About Guardian

Who is Guardian Club?
Guardian Club is a community of homeschool families from the Knox, Anderson , and surrounding counties in Tennessee, which is affiliated with the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA.org) and seeks to facilitate students in Christ-honoring competitive speech and debate through formal classroom instruction competition.

What Do We Believe?
For more than two thousand years, the Christian church has held almost exclusively accepted viewpoints on the veracity and inerrancy of Scripture and on issues related to marriage and biblical sexuality. Acknowledgment of what constitutes a “Christian worldview” based on these beliefs has gone largely without dispute until the last decade. Current societal norms, both inside and outside the church, have challenged the clarity with which NCFCA once operated and required us to resolutely affirm what Scripture has to say about these issues.

All members must affirm the three statements below.

Nashville Statement
This statement summarizes our beliefs regarding what the Bible teaches about human sexuality and gender. Please click the link to read through the entire statement.

Scriptural Inerrancy
We believe that the Bible in its entirety “is breathed out by God” (2 Tim 3:16), is inerrant in its original autographs (Proverbs 30:5; 2 Peter 1:20-21), and is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”. (2 Timothy 3:17)

What Do We Offer?
We offer instruction to homeschooled 12-18 years olds (12 by September 1st) in three genres of debate including Team Policy, Lincoln-Douglas Value-Debate, and Moot Court. We also offer a variety of platform, interpretive, and limited preparation speeches. In addition, we offer a juniors speech club for 8-12 year olds.

With Whom Are We Affiliated?
We are affiliated with the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA). “NCFCA is a non-denominational organization dedicated to promoting excellence in communications through competitive opportunities where Christian students develop the skills necessary to think critically and communicate effectively in order to address life issues from a biblical worldview in a manner that glorifies God. Based on this mission, our Statement of Faith is integral to who we are in both word and deed.” Please see NCFCA.org for more information.
